Hello MSS gang!
I have an SGP feature request. I would like the ability to tell SGP that I want to take a total of Y frames through this filter of this target, but I only wish to do X of them in this session.
For example, I ultimately want 30 x 600s Ha frames...but TONIGHT I would like to take only 5 of them.
This would be useful, imo, in 2 situations:
When shooting mosaics, it is often beneficial to capture some of each frame, and each filter OF that frame, every night, rather than capturing a bunch of R on Frame 1 one night, then G of Frame 2 another night when conditions may be quite different, and so on. So, on a given night, when time may allow for say, 24 frames, I could take 2 from each filter for each panel of a 4-panel mosaic, rather than 24/30 Frame 1 Filter 1, or 8/30 Filters 1/2/3 Frame 1 images.
During some moon phases, one might desire to shoot, say, Ha while the moon is up, but then Lum before/after the moon rises/sets. It would be very convenient to be able to tell SGP I ultimately want 50 Ha frames, but tonight shoot 8 of them and then move on to Lum.
Certainly, this can be accomplished by simply setting the number of desired frames to whatever is needed, and rotating through events...but then one must reset the completed status of every filter for every target, before shooting the next night.
Certainly not a deal-breaker by any means...but would be a nifty feature to have, imo.
